CCBR---Go Weaver Wild Cats!

Today was the Central California Band Review in Merced. It has always been held here in the past however the last 3 years it had been in Madera. Instead of the traditonal location of downtown Merced it was held on Child's Avenue near Golden Valley High School. The whole family went down to walk with the Weaver Union Jr High Band, known as the "Little Band with a Big Heart!" They did a great job and sounded wonderful. They placed very well too. Color Gaurd got 2nd place, Percussion received 3rd, Drum Majorette won 1st place!! The overall marching band recieved 2nd place!! Great job Wild Cats!!
Pics soon to follow.

Fowler Band Review

Yesterday my parents and I headed down to Fowler to watch Chelsea in her very first Band Review. Corinna and Tim weren't able to make it due to Trevor's very last football game and Scarlett had a soccer game. Before the review even started we saw some excitement...the big 100+ car pile up, yeah we drove right by it...not a pretty site. It happened not long before we passed by it. I pray for all that are involved. Back to Chelsea...she did a great job, you could tell she was nervous. The Weaver Band place 3rd in most areas with a 2nd for Drum Major. Very proud of Chelsea and the Weaver Wild Cats Marching Band!
Practicing in the early morning fog..a little nervous
Waiting to beginThey are a nice looking group
Being called to attention by the Drum Major
Let the judging begin!!

They sounded GREAT!!

Chelsea looking very good in her "finest" all except the cute feathery thing that goes on top, I think it is called a plume.
She was very tired and happy that she made it through her first band review.

Happy Halloween and a blast from the past

We all met up at Grandma and Papa's house to go trick or treating. Kara has been waiting for this night all week long! I even joined in on the fun and dressed up too. Kara was Tinker Bell, Michael was Peter Pan, and I was Wendy Darling. I tried to get Wayne to be Captain Hook but he wouldn't.So we had an Alien, a Pirate Wench, an Indian, Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, and Wendy Darling. We are a very diverse group
My Tink playing with some glow braclets and ignoring the camera. Tink always had a mind of her own and was a tad onery!
Chelsea, Scarlett, and Trevor!
And I happened to come across this picture....a blast from the past....

Donavan and I found these really cool ketchup and mustard costumes that we had to have!! And boy did we have fun with them (the next year we made them into crayons).

Here is also a very young Chelsea (purple witch), Scarlett (in orange), and Trevor the fire fighter. All before weddings and babies. Seems like forever ago!!

Pumpkins

Last night we carved our 4 pumpkins. This year Kara was more into it, she was able to clean out her very own pumpkin and tell mommy that it needed 2 eyes, a nose, and a mouth!
Wayne concentrating on his drawing of the face
Kara is wearing my own apron from when I was a little girl
Helping daddy scoop out the gunk while Michael relaxes in his bouncer
cleaning her very own pumpkin
Our family of pumpkins...michael's, mommy's, daddy's, and kara's. (kara picked which ones belonged to us) All lit up and glowing brightly

Kara got a haircut!!

Well we did it! We cut Kara's hair....and most of the curl went with it. I was tired of Kara crying about getting her hair combed after baths and in the morning because of tangles. I would even use detangler spray and it was still a battle with her. I took Kara over to my mom's house and had my mom cut it. I started to tear up when she made the first snip....kept thinking "what am I doing...she has beautiful hair!" I love the way it looks, actually looks much healthier. It does make my little girl seem older to me....Before....
and after....

Pumpkin Patch

We made our family trip to the Bear Creek Pumpkin Patch a week ago. This was Michael's 1st trip there. Here are a few photos..

Hi Everybody!!

Kara enjoyed running through the pumpkins

...and then she pushed one down the hill...So Chelsea was gracious enough to get it for us!!

Finally she picked a pumpkin....and she didn't care to take her picture with it!

It's been awhile....

.....since my last post. Been very busy around here, Michael started vegetables at the beginning of the month and loves them. We put Kara in "big girl" underwear with hopes that she will become potty trained soon. Only a couple of accidents so not too bad....we just started 2 days ago. I am now officially on a 2 week vacation from school and I am loving it!!! I leave you with a few pics taken over the last couple of weeks...enjoy..

5 months

It's hard to believe that Michael is already 5 months old. He is getting so big! Michael loves his cereal and veggies, except for peas. He is rolling over all the time and has even managed to roll completely off his blanket....the fun is about to begin! Michael loves to laugh at his big sister Kara and she loves to make him laugh. It is such a joy to watch the two of them interact with eachother.
Kara is growing up way too fast. Can't hardly believe that in 3 1/2 months she will be 3 years old! She is such an amazing little girl! Before we know it she will be in preschool! Don't even want to think about that. Potty training is....well let's just say....progressing very slowly. Somedays I think she is ready to go into panties and others not so much. She is very wishy-washy on telling us when she has to use the potty. I know eventually it will happen, just wish is was sooner rather than later.
When I get around to upload some photos I will share with all!
Until then......

Happy 33rd Birthday Corinna

Ok, so first I want to wish a very happy birthday to the best big sister and aunt there ever was! Since my sister posted a couple pictures of me on her site that a tad silly and embarrassing for the world to see, I thought I would share a few more that she seemed to have left out. Of course, they are all about her!Corinna all dressed for the circus.....she had to go with our Aunt and Uncle...mommy was busy giving birth to little ol' me!
ahhh.....she loved that slug..his name was "Ollie"
So this was taken about 5 1/2 years ago at a wedding! Yes, this is how we behave at weddings!
And last but not least....a more recent picture of my beautiful sister holding my little man, Michael!
HAPPY DIRDAY AUNTIE!!

I can't be....

..........30!!!!
Today I have the pleasure of turning 30. Those of you who read my blog and are already 30 or older probably think I am being silly, but I'm not the most excited person right now. I am no longer 20 something.....I have officially entered a new decade of my life. Now don't get me wrong.....My life so far has been awesome...yes there have been some road bumps along the way, but I believe they have made me a stronger person. I am excited about all that I have accomplished.....I have a wonderful husband, 2 beautiful children (I beat my quota of having 1 child by the time I turned 30!), a beautiful house (gotta love the mortgage), and my dream job! It is still just a little hard grasping the fact that I am now 30. Kara did start me off with a smile when she sung Happy Dirday Mommy to me, while sitting on the potty! Love my girl!!!
Thank you to all for the wonderful birthday wishes! My beautiful bouquet of roses Wayne had delivered to my school!!
Definitely put a smile on my face and brightened my day!

Some Kara space....

I haven't posted just about Kara in quite awhile, and she is more than deserving of a post just about her. Kara is turning into being such a big girl. She is talking so much more now and loves to sing...she makes up her own songs! We are still working on the potty training...hoping she is getting closer...I know it will happen eventually. Everyday is a new adventure with my "first baby" It's so awesome seeing her grow and figure things out on her own.....My beautiful blue eyed girl!

So I thought she was just fixing her chair to watch a movie and.........
.....this is how I found her upon my return from changing Michael's diaper!

4 months old

It's hard to believe that Michael is already 4 months old. We are having too much fun with him. Michael is now 14.5 lbs and 26.5 in long....I think he is going to be tall like daddy! We got to start him on rice cereal which has been fun. He has adjusted well and enjoys his cereal as long as he doesn't see the bottle first. He is picky about that...if he spies the bottle he won't eat the cereal....Very first bite of cereal
Loving to show it off....lots of gums!!
Hey mom!!
