A dream of many.......meeting Elvis!!

Kara and I got to have our picture taken with "Elvis". He seranaded "Love Me Tender" to Kara, and she didn't quite know what to think of him. She stared him down though!
Posing with some of the 1st grade team. From left to right: Ernesto, Melanie, Elvis, Michele, Me, and Kara!!

Is that Elvis????

At the end of the year party for Los Banos Elementary the teachers were surprised with a visit from Elvis. It was a memorable event, and I will truely miss my co-workers!

Elvis rocking out in Dos Palos, Ca!!!

Landon Wayne Staggs

Back in May, Kara and I had the pleasure of meeting one of my best friend's little man. Landon Wayne Staggs was born on March 1, 2006. His mom, Tamara, was one of my bridesmaids. I love her dearly.

The entire time that I was holding Landon, Kara wouldn't leave my side. She let him know that I was her Mommy!!!

It was such a joy to hold a newborn once again!

Kara didn't quite know what to think of Landon when she held him,
and by the look on his face he didn't either!!

Hard Drive Drama

It's been a long time since I last posted any pictures and believe me there is a perfectly good reason. Out of the blue, my hard drive decided to crash, so therefore I lost everything. Luckily Wayne has some pictures on disks and some on his computer. But even that couldn't console me and I cried like a BABY!!!! My warranty is still good, so I got a new Hard Drive and everything is GREAT thanks to DELL and a dear friend, Aarin. Stay tuned to new pics.......

Can we say cheeeessseee!!!

We love to give the cheesiest grins, anything to make mommy laugh!
This was right before she attacked me and the camera!
In the past couple of days Kara has been into carrying a purse and wearing her sunglasses! Doing pretty good in the first picture.....and then she decided to wear it as a hat! Which brings me to another point....she also loves to put things on her head ranging from clothes (shorts and shirts) to boxes, buckets, etc. I know, my child is very talented!

The Great Outdoors

Kara seems to have a fondness for grass.....it looks like she is searching for treasure! I wonder what it could be.........

Taking a stroll around the back yard. Our grass is coming in wonderfully and Kara loves to roam around. We were supposed to be swimming in her brand new pool, however Kara had other ideas!

Miss independent.....

I just love this picture! I look at it and see how big my little baby is getting. She loves to walk especially outside! Once you put her down, she is gone. Kara is becomming more and more independent everyday! She isn't a big fan of holding hands while walking. She loves for you to chase her, and started to run from me after I snapped this picture.

Radio Flyer fun!

Kara just loves to go for rides in her all terrain wagon! She's pretty good about staying seated, especially since this one doesn't have the convient seat belts.

She is always very interested in watching her shadow travel right along side of her. I've even caught her talking to it once in awhile!

More house pictures

Our fire place. My mom made the mantel and I distressed, painted, and stained it. The mirror is one of my mom's...she made it a long time ago.
A shot of my pictures above the couch. They are on loan from my mom until I aquire my own. They do go great with everything though.
My mom recovered the couch and love seat for us. Many will remember the grean floral print that was on them before. They look like brand new. She also made the coffee table and end table for us. Of couse she left me the wonderful job of staining them....fun!! Kara relaxing on the couch cushions while grandma was recovering the couch. This is the material that was on the couch and love seat before.
Another shot of the livingroom. My mom also made the skirting on my other table. And the beautiful flowers came from her very own garden. Such a wonderful mom!

This is a cabinet in my living room. It was painted by my mom and is on loan from her. I like it so much I don't want to give it back.

The new house...

The new house is coming along great. We now have been here a little over 3 months and absolutely love it! So much better living in a house of our own instead of a small apartment. I got the wonderful idea in my head to get all the painting done right away.....well 3 months later and all I have to finish painting is the master bath and some trim work in the master bedroom. Kara's room is decorated for now, but Grandma Vivian is going to paint a mural in it. She has been over here a lot, so she is taking a break and won't start Kara's room for a couple of months. Many of you have see the house, however some haven't so I've included some pictures. Hope you enjoy!

This is a picture of Waynes office. My mom painted the bottom half of the wall to look like leather and the top half to look like parchment paper.

Wayne is a big John Wayne fan!

Wayne's black powder rifle. Also shows a bit of ceiling. I mixed a brown paint with glaze and applied it in a faux finish.

This is a shot of one end in the guest bath. I used a faux finish on the walls and applied tinted plaster in a fern leaf pattern using a regular stencil. The picture on the wall is an original Dean Marsh. He's one of my cousins...talent!

Another shot of the bathroom.

Playing dress-up

I was having fun with Kara's hair and decided to dress her up in her swimsuit.

Kara is having fun just hanging around!!!!

Now this is how to ride your push toy!!

A Few Easter Pictures

We had loads of fun coloring Easter eggs with our cousins. Kara went to her Uncle Tim and Aunt Corinna's house, joining Trevor, Chelsea, and Scarlett. Her other cousins, Savannah and Stephi were there too! Kara tried to eat an egg, thankfully it was boiled. Of course mommy did all the coloring, but I'm sure Kara will be a master at it next year.

Hmmm.................

Well we survived Easter! Kara had lots of fun hunting for eggs and playing with all her cousins. The Butler house was full of our family members enjoying eachother's company and eating lots of good food. The weather could have been better, rained off and on. Just when we thought it would be safe to hide the eggs outside, it started to sprinkle. We sent the kids out hunting anyways and it turned out to be the fastest egg hunt ever! (started to rain hard!) I will add some pictures when I get them!
